Oh man, oh man. It’s been awhile since I’ve done an Around the Apartment post (and blogging in general) but I’m happy to be back with it! *insert smiley emoji here* I think I was putting too much pressure on myself to only post ‘interior’ shots of our apartment, but I think I’ll keep this series more casual, you know, sort of like a ‘life lately’ or ‘currently’ post. How does that sound?
Excellent. Let’s do it!
So, can we just talk about succulents for a sec here. Especially these small little guys. I don’t exactly have the greenest of thumbs, but I just can’t help myself – they are too cute. (Any tips on keeping them alive? I know they are in the hard-to-kill category, but…well, see previously mentioned thumb.)
Secondly, that giraffe. It’s sort of my favorite right now. It reminds me of the safari that we took on our recent trip to South Africa. (Photos coming soon I promise). We stopped at a little market right outside of Kruger National Park and found these wooden crafted animals. I love how imperfect and quirky they are.
On a slightly more serious note, I posted a photo on Instagram the other day, expressing how things are changing over here in our apartment and our lives. Once my sister ties the knot, she’ll be moving in with her husband. There’s so many mixed emotions – happy and excited for Ali and Blake, but also sad knowing that these are the last few months I’ll be living with my sister and best friend. We’ve made so many memories in the two apartments we lived in together and I’ll be holding those close to my heart. Thankfully their new place is only a few miles away!
I’d love to hear from you! Thoughts on succulents? What’s special item in your house that brings back special memories when you look at it? Tweet me or let me know in the comment below!
