With September right around the corner and school starting up again (or maybe it already has for you), I’ve been thinking a lot about my work space. You may have heard that my sister is getting married in September. So she’ll be moving out of the apartment soon. Guess what that means? I’ll be gaining an empty room in the apartment. Since I do all of my work from the dining room table (which is always a mess), what better way to use the empty room than to turn it into a much needed studio space! Here’s a list of
necessary dream items I would love to fill the new room with.
Lamp // I’ve never realized that even though I’m renting I can change out the ceiling lights. I love this scalloped hanging lamp. It brings a delicate and interesting touch!
iMac // Confession time – I do all of my work on a laptop. It’s taking a strain on my back being hunched over all the time. Plus a bigger screen would be such a dream (especially for editing photos)!
Wall Clock // I love how this wall clock is so old school! The copper makes it more modern though. It’s a great blend!
Gold Scissors // Okay, who doesn’t any a pair of gold scissors in their office? I certainly do!
Bookshelf // Organization is a must. The bookshelf is perfect for file storage and pretty styling, while the cabinets below provide great storage for the not so pretty things!
Desk // A new desk is definitely in order since I’m using the table in the dining room right now. I love how this desk is has a little bit of storage and a mid century vibe.
Hanging Plants // Plants, always and these hanging plants are just too cute!
Stendig Calendar // This calendar was designed my Massimo Vignelli, one of the great designers. I’m sure you would recognize his work. He designed the one of the most well known typefaces, which is also used in the calendar – Helvetica. I love that this minimalist calendar serves not only as a reminder of what day it is, but also has a bit a history and importance behind it – a great inspiration!
Floor Rug // My obsession with floor rugs is on overdrive right now. I had such a hard time picking one out for this post. If rugs weren’t so expensive, I’d probably switch them out every other week. I love how a big patterned rug brings character to floors and makes your room unique.
Big Mug // because a small mug of a chai latte just isn’t enough.
Candle // I tend to feel more focused when I have a candle burning and I’m in love with this candle jar. I can just imagine how heavenly the scent is.
Of course some of these items are a little out of budget, so we will see what I can actually make happen! Maybe there will be some DIY projects. What about you – have you been eyeing up some things for your work space? Let me know via the comments or on Twitter!
