Happy Friday!! I debated sharing these today since it’s Good Friday and all, but I figured we can still be joyous today. After all it’s all about how Jesus died, only to rise again. Anyways, I was pretty excited when our (new!) pastor called to ask if I would design a postcard to be sent out to the surrounding community inviting them to celebrate Easter with us. We both agreed that the postcard should but simple, warm, and inviting, with a straightforward message. I immediately said yes and started sketching out some ideas.
Since our church is sort of awkwardly located, we thought a map on the back would be a good idea. Ever since I made this map, I’ve been obsessed with map design and jumped on the opportunity to design another. Even though it’s small, it was fun to design. Plus geotags, they are the greatest.
One of my favorite parts of designing the postcard was playing with some subtle grunge brushes in Photoshop. It actually took awhile to get just the right amount of grunge…let’s just say there was a lot of grunge removal. Less is more in the grunge department.
If you’re in the Winona area, we’d love to celebrate with you at Goodview Trinity Church (820 37th Ave.) at 6:30 am or 9 am. Happy Easter ( and weekend ) to you and yours!
