Hey friends! Last week I mentioned that my cousin was graduating from high school and I had the honor of not only taking her senior photos, but also designing her graduation party invite!
Since Janessa loves them just as much as I do, I was really excited to hand-letter her name and ‘Class of 2015’ with watercolor! Knowing I needed something to pop against the dark background, I chose to go with a pink color. I love how it brings out the colors of her lips and matches the flowers on her shirt that are peaking out.
Working on these invites was a blast! Actually, I’ve always enjoyed working on invite designs. When I graduated high school in 2008 (say what!), I designed my invites. They were baby pink and brown (insert shocked emoji face). In fact, I also designed my sisters and two other cousins graduation party invites in 2010, 2011, and 2012, so I guess it’s sort of a tradition now 🙂 It was fun looking back at the previous invites I’ve designed, but let’s just say, I’ve really honed in my design skills since then.
So adorable!! I designed my own + families invitations as well, and I cringe looking back! These are gorgeous and I love that lettering + photography!
awww, Jamie, thanks so much!! Looking back, I can definitely say I am glad I recognized the importance of white-space and less-is-more, haha!
Love how the text looks on top of her picture! So cool, lady! 🙂
Thanks Kory!! It was great to step away from the computer for a little bit to hand-letter her name! 🙂
Cute! I love the color and the lettering.
Thanks, Tanea! It was such a fun project!
I love that this has become something of a family tradition for you! What a fun connection!
These are truly gorgeous – and I also love the color theme! Looks very grown up + modern for a young woman moving on to new experiences!
Thanks so much, Jessica! I love that I get to be part of their special day in a unique way! 🙂
Oh my gosh, girl. These are ADORABLE!! Love the colors and the writing. Great job. 😀
Oh, Shaina, thanks so much!! I had so much fun making them!! 🙂
