So, remember that weekend to-do list from last week? Well, here are the results of number six – paint something! With India Ink, a little bit of water, and a paintbrush, I sat down and started making some patterns. I love the look of hand drawn, perfectly imperfect designs and illustrations. They are so fun and quirky. It has always been a goal of mine to practice and incorporate more hand drawn elements into my designs. However, I must admit that when it comes to a paintbrush I am not the most comfortable. Nevertheless, it was relaxing to just let go and paint whatever came to mind. Furthermore, as a designer who works all day on the computer, it was SO good to step away from a computer. Seriously, I should do this more often! Of course, afterwords, I hopped back onto the computer to scan the images into Photoshop, make some adjustments, and add color. Maybe I should have ‘paint something’ on all of my weekend to-do lists!
