I decided to just make, instead of criticizing my work and aiming for perfection.
I was itching to use some watercolors, but I was little apprehensive since I haven’t used watercolors in a long time. I wasn’t confident that I would be successful.
BUT I decided to just go for it. If it ended up terribly, no one would see it anyways. Throwing perfection out the window and deciding to just explore without harsh judgement, I ending up throughly enjoying the process – it was so calming. I also was happy to discover that the texture and color variation of watercolor stays pretty consistent when scanned into Photoshop. Yay and yay!
Lastly, I think it’s the most important lesson that was reiterated to me:
Imperfection is beauty. Embrace it.
I can’t wait to play around with more watercolor patterns! I’d love to know: Have you ever decided to just make? How did it turn out? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter!
