Traveling and exploring is something I feel so passionately about. I want to seek out new places, new people, new cultures and experience the treasures of traveling. No matter how loud the wanderlust roars from within me, I was never sure if that was the way my path would lead. Life seems to think otherwise, though, at least for now as we pack our suitcases in a few months to go to South Africa!
It feels so surreal to type (and even to say a loud) – we are going to South Africa! What?! Someone pinch me! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would cross ‘go on a safari in Africa’ off my bucket list. It’s funny how life works. One day our family friends lived a few blocks away, then a few months ago they pack up their belongs to move to South Africa. Now that they are settled in, they have invited us to visit them for two weeks this April!
I never expected to travel to South Africa this early in my life and I will be eternally grateful for this experience. We are planning on staying with our friends in Johannesburg, but do plan on making some day trips, taking a safari and maybe (hopefully) even going to Cape Town. With that said, not much is set in stone (besides the purchasing of flights), so if you have any suggestions at all about South Africa or Johannesburg, Cape Town or surrounding cities, we would be overjoyed to hear from you! Any tips on how to survive one of the longest flights in the world would be welcomed as well!
